Jet Mixing – The Basics

Advantages over old jet systems

– More accurate control of cement slurry
– More energy added by RA 56
– Gives a second chance to control density
– Can stop pumping downhole and mixing, leaving recirculating

Low pressure mixing system

– Recirculating line from a tub goes back to mixing bowl
– Knife gate to control cement falling into mixing bowl
– 2 bypasses with jets

Configuration
Engine: caterpillar C7 300HP@2200RPM
Gear box: Funk 59000 series
Hydraulic system: Eaton heavy close hydraulic system
Slurry recirculating pump: Serva RA56
Booster/transfer pump: Serva RA56 Mixing
water pump: Serva 4X3
Mixing system: high energy system
Control system: ACM-III.1 auto density control system

Silos & water Tank

Pressurized Silo Operation

– Fluff transfer tank prior to discharge by opening vent and air line to the pads.
– Close vent to pressurize the transfer tank.
– Open vent and fill on receiving tank.
– Pass air through this tank to check for plugging.
– Open discharge valve on transfer tank.
– Air pressure will drop when all bulk transferred.
– Close transfer discharge valve and bleed pressure off.
– Close vent and fill on receiving tank.
